Menu-of-Options Funding Criteria

Faculty as professional learning facilitators must continually develop four documented and benchmarked domains of learning-centered teaching to ensure optimal student learning. These domains are the same as the ones focused upon in yearly NWACC performance reviews and include preparation of learning content and materials, organizing the classroom environment, facilitating instruction, and continuous improvement for development as professional educators. A balance of professional development opportunities/activities of these domains is essential to provide and support effective instruction that facilitates student learning. The “Menu of Options” found below contains appropriate, but not exhaustive topics for each domain and will be used as criteria in evaluation of requests for professional development funds. Please note that many topics overlap into more than one domain (ex.: active learning, assessment, communication, motivation, and technology).
